The death has occurred of a former governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Dr. Doyin Okupe, Theliberationnews has learnt.
Okupe was a former presidential spokesperson to Peter Obi, candidate of the Labour Party in the last presidential election.
Born, 22nd March 1952, Dr. Doyin Okupe, was a Nigerian physician and politician who co-founded Royal Cross Medical Centre and was the National Publicity Secretary of National Republican Convention.
He was once detained under General Sani Abacha and subsequently disqualified from participating in United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) primaries.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his death was yet to be ascertain as his family is yet to make an official statement.
