Dr. William Ruto has been declared winner of the Presidential election in Kenya by the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission.

Ruto garnered 7,176,141 (50.49%) votes to beat his closest rival Mr Raila Odinga who polled 6,942,930 (48.85%) in the keenly contested election.

Ruto was the country’s deputy president but managed to win the top job in last Tuesday’s Kenya election by defeating Raila Odinga who has now vied for the post 5 times losing in each of them.
