The President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Prince Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, has felicitated members of the Society and other adherents of the Islamic faith across the world on the occasion of the New Islamic Year, Hijrah 1448 AH.
Kazeem described the commencement of the new Islamic year as a time for Muslims to reflect on their individual and collective responsibilities, as he called for renewed commitment to righteousness, education, peaceful coexistence, and service to humanity.
“The Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah was a turning point in the history of Islam. It was a journey of faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering trust in Allah.
“The lessons of Hijrah remain relevant today as they inspire us to strengthen our faith, uphold justice, promote unity, and contribute positively to the development of our communities and nation.
“As we begin this new year, let us reflect on our individual and collective responsibilities as Muslims. Let us renew our commitment to righteousness, education, peaceful coexistence, and service to humanity,” the statement read in part.
The former Attorney-General of Lagos State went on to urge members of the Society to remain intentional about upholding the tenets upon which Ansar-Ud-Deen was founded.
“We must continue to uphold the noble ideals upon which the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society was founded — promoting Islamic values, educational excellence, moral discipline, and community development,” he said.
He concluded by calling on the Muslim Ummah to leverage the occasion of the new year to pray for peace, security, and prosperity in Nigeria, while also advocating support for one another and empathy for the less privileged.
“I call on all our members to use this occasion to pray for peace, security, and prosperity in Nigeria. Let us also support one another, care for the less privileged, and work together to strengthen our Society and the Muslim Ummah. May Allah (SWT) forgive our shortcomings, bless us with good health, abundant mercy, and grant us success in all our lawful endeavours in the New Year.
“Happy New Hijrah Year 1448 AH. Happy Celebration,” the statement concluded.
