Former Super Eagles captain Jay-Jay Okocha has disclosed that he later met with incredible goalkeeper Oliver Kahn years after his incredible goal against the German in 1993. The skilful superstar who spent four years at Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt ripped the entire Karlsruher SC defence before putting the ball past Kahn.

Jay-Jay dribbled and nutmegged about five defenders before hitting it low into the corner and then went on with an iconic celebration as he pulled off his shirt.

In a chat with the media at the opening ceremony of a new 5-aside football pitch sited at Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) Estate, Meiran, Ojokoro, Lagos, Okocha disclosed that he later met with Kahn.

The Nation reports that the new pitch is part of Bundesliga’s programme for global pitch refurbishment activation in support of football, with the novel event tagged “Common Ground” in partnership with Star Times.

Okocha said: “Well, I’ve seen him after that. We are not enemies; we are all just doing our jobs and I’m delighted I scored that goal. It was a goal that introduced me to Europe and it’s still a special goal.”
