Apapa Customs Rakes In Historic N28.1bn Revenue In A Single Day

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded ₦28.1 billion in revenue within 24 hours, marking its highest single-day revenue collection to date.

The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Sulaiman, and made available to journalists in Lagos on Wednesday.

Oshoba said the latest collection surpassed the previous single-day record of ₦20.1 billion, achieved in September 2025.

He attributed the milestone to sustained reforms, improved compliance, intelligence-driven interventions and greater efficiency in the digital customs processes at Apapa Port.

The comptroller also disclosed that the command generated ₦323 billion in July, stressing that revenue collection goes beyond figures as it contributes to funding infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.

He commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Dr Bashir Adeniyi, for supporting the modernisation and automation of the service.

Oshoba also praised compliant importers, exporters, licensed customs agents and other stakeholders for their cooperation, while urging officers to avoid complacency and maintain professionalism, transparency and efficient trade facilitation.

He directed personnel to ensure that legitimate disputes are resolved promptly so that customs procedures do not unnecessarily hinder lawful businesses.

The Apapa Area Command, he said, remains committed to improving revenue generation, facilitating legitimate trade and strengthening collaboration with stakeholders for national development.
