Peter Obi’s Political Harakiri — By Yahaya Balogun

Any self-styled leader who is afraid to resolve conflict among the people does not merit the title of leader and has no business aspiring to lead a great, convoluted, and conflicted nation like Nigeria.

In a nutshell, being truthful is inexpensive, yet it may be inconvenient. Truly, while honesty can be challenging, it ultimately yields moral compensatory rewards. Peter Obi is a political opportunist and grandstander. He who tries to eke out what he didn’t sow will ultimately be given crumbs. Peter Obi’s penchant for instant political gratification and sense of entitlement are his political encumbrances. Peter Obi is too politically cosmetic, pedestrian!

The truth is inconvenient, but it would greatly benefit the Ndigbo community if a skilled author and professional writer could detail the misguided and misadventures of Mr. Peter Gregory Obi in the realm of Nigerian politics.

Our current generation of Ndigbo is squandering a prime opportunity to realize the aspiration for an Igbo Presidency amid Nigeria’s complex web of geopolitical structures. I have reiterated time and again that the Obidient movement and IPOB pose significant obstacles to this honorable pursuit for a region that has been self-denied the presidency since our nation’s inception due to the miseducation of their youths by their leaders.

Meanwhile, we have not witnessed the last instance of Peter Obi’s political ‘Israelite journey’ and seppuku. The political Peteru of our time will soon transition from the NDC to an undisclosed party after the 2027 presidential election. It’s hard to understand how an individual and his cult-like political movement persist in being used as an administrative convenience for serving the interests of seasoned politicians in Nigeria.

A hard but truthful message to the unruly Obidients, the pedestrian Obidients, and even to the intellectually astute but emotionally unintelligent Obidients: heed my words — it will soon be “to your tents, O Israel!” and you will finally see clearly through the fog of Nigerian politics that Mr. Peter Obi is a political package and scam. Again, mark my words for preferential posterity!
