Chelsea recorded an impressive comeback against Championship side, Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup semi-final by cruising to a 6-1 victory at Stamford Bridge after losing 1-0 in the first leg.

It only took the Mauricio Pochettino’s side fifteen minutes into the match to find the back of the net and level with Middlesbrough on aggregate.

Chelsea began the goal rain with Ben Chilwell’s key assist to Raheem Sterling who set up Amando Broja for the opening goal. Though, it was recorded as an own-goal against Boro due to the fact that the final touch was mistakenly made by Jonny Howson.

Chelsea went on to have Enzo Fernandez, Alex Disasi, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke on the scoresheet to humble Manchester United’s legend, Michael Carrick and his Middlesbrough team.

The victory means Chelsea has secured a spot in the 10th EFL Cup final for Chelsea.

The late goal from Morgan Rogers was only a consolation as Chelsea will now look ahead to the final against Liverpool or Fulham on February 25, while Middlesbrough refocuses on the Championship play-off race.
