After intense suspense and intrigue, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday evening declared Senator Uba Sani of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as Kaduna Governor-Elect.
According to the Collation officer, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis said Sani amassed 730,002 votes while Mohammed Isa Ashiru of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 719,196 votes.
He gave the total votes scored by the political parties in the states as follows:
APC: 730,002, LP: 58,283, NNPP: 21,405 and PDP: 719,196.
Further details revealed that he People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, Hon. Mohammed Isa Ashiru Kudan won in 13 local government areas of Kaura, Sanga, Kajuru, Makarfi, Jaba, Jema’a, Zangon Kataf, Soba, Chikun, Kagarko, Lere, Kachia and Kudan while APC’s Sani won only in 10 local government areas of Giwa, Ikara, Kauru, Sabon Gari, Kubau, Zaria, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi and Birnin-Gwari.
Despite outrightly winning only 10 LGAs, Sani polled second highest figures and closely trailed Kudan in other LGAs to round his tally up to 730,002 to defeat PDP.
