Peer Pressure And Beauty Trends Pushed Me To Do BBL – Mercy Eke Says

Reality TV personality and former Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has opened up on what influenced her to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

According to her peer pressure and beauty trends motivated her decision. However, she admitted that she kept the procedure secret from her mother because she feared she would object.

The television star made the disclosure during an interview with Korty EO, where she reflected on the reasons behind the cosmetic surgery and the painful recovery that followed.

According to Eke, the popularity of BBL procedures at the time played a significant role in her decision, while pressure from those around her also contributed.

She said she deliberately avoided informing her mother before undergoing the operation because she anticipated she would strongly oppose it.

Recalling her recovery experience, Eke described the first few days after the surgery as extremely painful, noting that patients are unable to sleep or sit on their buttocks for about two weeks while healing.

Despite the difficult recovery, she said she has no regrets about the procedure and is pleased with the outcome.

Eke said: “I got a BBL because it was trending and there was a lot of peer pressure. I didn’t tell my mum because I knew she would discourage me. You can’t sleep on your bum for 14 days, and you’ll cry for the first 3 days from the pain… but look, it’s soft now.”
