Protocol.
His Excellency, Mr Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu
His Excellency, Our candidate, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat
The Governance Advisory Council.
The distinguished leaders of our great Party, respected members of the Party leadership, esteemed members of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, gentlemen of the Press, ladies and gentlemen

It is my pleasure and privilege to deliver the opening address, precisely to set the tone, for this important one-day retreat, convened at a critical moment in our collective political journey.
I sincerely appreciate your presence, your commitment, and your continued dedication to the success of our Party and the objectives of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council.
Your presence here today demonstrates that we recognize the importance of leadership, strategic planning, unity of purpose, and collective responsibility in achieving our political goals.

Our retreat theme, “The Road to the Ballot: One Team, One Strategy,” is both timely and instructive. It reminds us that electoral success does not happen by accident. It is the product of conscious and deliberate planning, effective coordination, disciplined execution, sustained engagement with the people, and the ability of leaders to work together towards a common objective.

The road to the ballot is a journey that demands more than enthusiasm and political strength. It requires a clear vision, a shared strategy, defined responsibilities, effective communication, and a united leadership capable of mobilising our structures and supporters towards a common destination.

This is why the emphasis on one team and one strategy is particularly important.

As leaders of the Party and the Campaign Council, we must appreciate that our individual positions, responsibilities, interests, and contributions are most valuable when they complement one another. No single individual, sub-committee, directorate or campaign structure can achieve electoral success in isolation. Our collective strength lies in our ability to work as one coordinated team, respect established channels of communication, resolve differences constructively, and place the overall interest of the Party above personal considerations.

Unity does not mean that we will always agree on every issue. It means that, even when our opinions differ, we remain committed to a common purpose and pursue our agreed objectives with discipline and mutual respect.

This retreat therefore provides us with an opportunity to reflect honestly on our preparedness, strengthen relationships, identify potential challenges, and agree on practical strategies for moving forward. It is a platform to align our political vision with our operational plans, clarify the roles of the Party and the Campaign Council, and establish effective mechanisms for coordination, mobilisation, communication, and accountability

I encourage us to approach today’s deliberations with open minds, sincerity, and a strong sense of responsibility. Let us engage in constructive discussions, listen to one another, and focus on solutions rather than disagreements. We must be willing to identify our weaknesses, build on our strengths, and develop strategies that are realistic, measurable, and capable of delivering results.
Furthermore, our campaign strategy must remain people-centred. The confidence of the electorate is earned through meaningful engagement, credible communication, responsiveness to public concerns, and a consistent demonstration of our commitment to the welfare and aspirations of the people. Our structures must therefore be organised, our messages coherent, and our engagement with citizens respectful, factual, and responsible.

Distinguished leaders, colleagues, ladies and gentlemen; the true value of this retreat will not be measured by the quality of the speeches delivered here today, but by the

decisions we take, the commitments we make, and the actions we implement after we leave this venue.

At the conclusion of our deliberations, we should have a clearer understanding of our shared priorities, a more coordinated approach to our responsibilities, a practical roadmap for translating our collective resolve into measurable progress and the ultimate outcome of not just winning but recording landslide victory at the Polls.

As Director-General of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, I reaffirm my commitment to working collaboratively with the Party leadership and all relevant stakeholders to promote effective coordination, strategic discipline, mutual respect, and purposeful execution of our agreed plans.

Let us leave this retreat with a renewed conviction that our strength lies in our unity, our advantage lies in our preparation, and our progress depends on our ability to act together.

One Team. One Strategy. One Purpose.

With these words, I have modestly whetted your appetite on what to expect in this historic yet strategic retreat. We can therefore look forward to fruitful, frank, and productive deliberations.

Thank you, and God bless us all.

Distinguished Senator Musiliu OBANIKORO
