President Bola Tinubu will on Thursday leave Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah.
The President will use the pilgrimage to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and stability.
This is according to a statement on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to Onanuga, the president will seek divine guidance and blessings for the country and its people during the spiritual exercise.
Umrah is the lesser Hajj that can be performed at any time of the year, unlike the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Before his departure, the President will commission equipment newly acquired by the Nigerian Air Force at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
He is expected back in Nigeria next week after completing the rites.
