The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSEc, has congratulated Princess Damilola Sonayon-James on her appointment as the Director of the Directorate of New Generation, Lagos APC Campaign Council, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Princess Sonayon-James is to serve as Director of the New Generation Directorate alongside other youth leaders and prominent political figures.
Princess Sonayon-James, who is also the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate in Lagos State, will, by her leadership of the New Generation Directorate, play a key role in coordinating engagements with young people and other emerging stakeholders as the party prepares for the forthcoming elections.
In a congratulatory message, Adigun described Sonayon-James’ appointment as a recognition of her leadership capacity, commitment to youth development and consistent engagement with young people across Lagos State especially since her emergence as the party’s deputy governorship candidate.
He noted that her new responsibility presents an opportunity to further strengthen the participation of young people in the political process, while expressing confidence that she would bring her experience, energy and understanding of the youth constituency to bear in the discharge of her assignment.
“Princess Damilola Sonayon-James has consistently demonstrated a genuine commitment to the advancement of young people. Her appointment is therefore a recognition of her capacity and the confidence reposed in her to contribute meaningfully to the political process.
“I congratulate her warmly and wish her every success in this new responsibility. I am confident that she will use the opportunity to further promote meaningful engagement with the New Generation and contribute positively to the assignment before the campaign council,” Adigun added.
