The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Branch, Lagos, has hailed the emergence of Ms Samiat Shotayo as the consensus Councillorship candidate for Ward C3, Kayode/Fadeyi.
In a press statement made available to Theliberationnews, the youth umbrella body described Shotayo’s emergence as a landmark win for the youths adding that upon her anticipated emergence at the by-election scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2926, she will be the youngest grassroots lawmaker in the country.
The by-election will be conducted by Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, in Odi-Olowo, Ibeju-Lekki and Somolu.
The statement signed by the deputy coordinator of the local branch, Comrade Lukman Tijani and made available to Theliberationnews reads:
“The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Branch, heartily congratulates Miss Samiat Shotayo on her emergence as the Consensus Candidate for Ward C3 (Kayode/Fadeyi) in Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area.
“This development represents not only a personal achievement for Miss Shotayo but also a landmark victory for the youth of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Lagos State, and Nigeria as a whole. Her emergence is a strong testament to the growing confidence in the capacity, competence, and leadership potential of young people. Significantly, she is set to make history as one of, if not the youngest Councillor in Nigeria, further proving that young people are prepared to take on leadership responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to governance.
