As executives of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in the state come together to elect the party’s chairmanship flag-bearers today, the chairman of the party’s electoral committee, Barrister Babatunde Ogala, SAN, has assured of a free, fair, and transparent process.

Ogala gave the assurance this morning while briefing pressmen ahead of the intra-party election.

The process is being held at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ogba, Lagos.

While addressing the press, Ogala explained that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth process.

He emphasized that the process has been designed not only to be seamless but also fair, assuring that results will be declared at the end of voting.

He added that while the voting will be conducted by secret ballot, it will remain transparent.

“The winners will leave here with their victory. We will count their votes, and the winners will be declared here,” he said.

There is a heavy security presence within and around the party secretariat, as operatives of various units of the Nigerian Police Force, led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, are on the ground. Personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, among others, are also present.

Among other amenities provided at the venue are ambulance buses in case of medical emergencies.

Each council area has no fewer than 27 party executives, meaning that no fewer than 1,539 delegates are expected to partake in the voting process as well as chairmanship aspirants and their respective agents to observe the process.
