Prominent Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayo Balogun better known as Wizkid has distanced himself from the Peter Obi Mega Musical Concert scheduled for Feb. 18 in Abuja.
This is as the superstar through his management warned supporters of the Labour Party Presidential candidate to stop using his name to promote the said concert revealing that he is already exploring legal action against the organizer.
Theliberationnews observed that there have been e-fliers of said convert on social media with Wizkid, among other artistes, lined-up up for performance.
The event is tagged ‘2023 ObiDatti Showdown Music Concert’ and other music stars who are rumored to perform in the concert include Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, 2baba, and Seun Kuti.
Comedians, Actors, DJs as well as dancers are also expected to perform at the show.
However, Sunday Are in a statement over the weekend warned that Wizkid was not part of the arrangement for Peter Obi and that legal actions would be taken against those responsible.
He wrote, “This is to inform the general public that this event is a scam, Wizkid, and his management know nothing about this event and accordingly, he will not perform at the said event as claimed. So please beware of this poster and information put out from its organizers as Wizkid and his management will not be liable for any damages.
“Appropriate legal action is currently being explored against the persons responsible for creating and disseminating this false information.”
