The foremost presidential candidate in the country and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu alongside his running mate, Kashim Shettima met behind closed with some notable governors and party leaders on Tuesday.
As revealed by the Director of Media and Communications, Tinubu Campaign Organization (TCO), Bayo Onanuga, the meeting was in furtherance of Asiwaju’s consultative move ahead of the September kick-off of election campaign.
Although Onanuga did not disclose details of the meeting, he explained that there is a standing arrangement not to have the latest moves of his principal in the media.
The meeting, as held, at Tinubu’s Abuja residence had in attendance the former National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole, governors of Kaduna and Zamfara States, Nasir El-Rufai and Bello Matawalle, respectively, alongside APC National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore.
For some weeks now, Adams Oshiomole’s name has been trending on social media space with many being tipping him for the position of Tinubu’s campaign director, according to The Punch, the former Edo State Governor clarified that hasn’t been appointed as the DG of Tinubu Campaign.
In a terse response, Oshiomole said, “No, I have not been appointed as the DG of Tinubu Campaign,” and failed to speak further on the possibility.
