Five non-governmental organisations have put plans together to showcase on Wednesday, December 8, young Nigerian entrepreneurs and their products in a micro, small and medium enterprises symposium and exhibition powered by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with the Nigerian government.

Speaking at a round table discussion in Lagos, ahead of the exhibition taking place on Wednesday, spokesperson for the combined NGOs, and Team leader of Leverage Platform, Tobi Durojaiye, stated that the event is being put together in order to expose, connect and showcase the products of the entrepreneurs.

Durojaiye also revealed that it has become a necessity for the partnering NGOs to ensure that the empowered youths, who have undergone various free trainings, become successful and to give them access to financial and strategic opportunities.

Also speaking at the press briefing, Bose Aggrey, the Executive Director of Web of Hearts, an NGO that focuses on irregular migrations, said that her organisation has been able to train and empower over 1,000 people who have been repositioned under the Germany-based GOPA Worldwide Consultants-implemented initiative.

She added that the MSME symposium and exhibition, which will hold at the Blue Roof Hall, inside the premises of Lagos Television (LTV) on the 8th of December, 2021, will re-emphasise the fact that locally made products by Nigerians can rule the market if the country’s leaders have the political will to put in place the necessary policies to support these entrepreneurs.

Aggrey called on Lagos residents to visit the one-day exhibition, which will also have government and corporate personalities in the MSME industry as guests, adding that interested youths can also come and put their names down as the GIZ empowerment initiative intends to train thousands of young Nigerians in 2022.
