The Ojodu LCDA branch of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has bestowed an award of excellence for staff welfare on the council chairman, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku.

The award presentation was one of the highlights of the new year’s thanksgiving and prayer service hosted by the council boss on Thursday at the main hall of the council secretariat to kick-off the new year.

During the auspicious event, Odunmbaku appreciated the workers for their unwavering dedication which he credited for the council’s remarkable achievements in 2024.

Odunmbaku, in a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Akinkunmi Bello, announced a 100% increase in staff welfare allowances and financial assistance alongside a continued monthly palliative support program for all staff.

To further appreciate their efforts and as a reaffirmation of his commitment to their welfare, the council honcho distributed food items to all employees in attendance as part of the welfare initiatives.

Impressed by the Odunmbaku’s robust and impactful welfare policy, the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Jaiye Bolaji on behalf of the union’s leadership and the entire workforce, presented him with an Award for Excellence for Staff Welfare as he described the chairman as the ‘Most Staff-Friendly Chairman” of 2024.

He went on to describe Ojodu LCDA as a “worker-friendly local government.”

On her part, the Council Manager, Engr Bunmi Akintoye, stated that “Ojodu LCDA has become a benchmark for excellence and harmony.”

The event which also featured intense inter-faith prayer sessions was attended by members of the Executive and Legislative Arms, management staff, and the entire workforce to set the tone for a successful year ahead.
