An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday granted Stella Nwadigbo, a teacher at Christ Mitot School caught on camera assaulting a three-year-old pupil, N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
This was after she pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault leveled against her before the court presided over by Chief Magistrate O. Kushanu.
Nwadigbo resides at Isawo in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the alleged offence was committed on January 7 at Christ Mitot School, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Akeem explained that the woman was caught on camera giving a boy slaps and blows while teaching him to write the numerals.
The alleged offences, the prosecutor said, contravened Sections 135 and 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Kushanu adjourned the case until February 18 for mention.
