Augustine Eguavoen has resigned his role as the interim coach of the Super Eagles.

Eguavoen said his appointment was just a stopgap and his mandate was only for two games, which he has now completed.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director was appointed as interim coach after the federation’s attempts to hire a permanent head coach for the national team were unsuccessful.

During his brief tenure, Eguavoen led the Super Eagles in two crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

While the Nigerian senior men’s team defeated Benin Republic 3-0, they played out a barren draw with Rwanda on Tuesday.
