The Lagos State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Adigun Ibrahim, MNSE, has continued his wide familiarization with critical stakeholders in the state for youths’ continued development.

On Wednesday, he was received in audience alongside other members of the state executives by the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu.

During the meeting, Adigun spoke on the importance of sports in youth development and community engagement. He highlighted the need for increased collaboration between NYCN and the Lagos State Sports Commission to promote grassroots sports participation across the state.

On her part, the Deputy Coordinator, Comrade Comfort Olafare, pledged the support of NYCN in mobilizing youths to actively participate in sporting initiatives, thereby fostering unity and healthy competition among young people.

In his remarks, Fatodu expressed his appreciation for the visit and reiterated the Commission’s commitment to promoting sports at all levels in Lagos State reiterating the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu is passionate about youth development through sports.

Sharing Adigun’s sentiment, Fatodu emphasized the role of sports in youth empowerment and social integration, noting its potential to steer young people away from social vices and towards productive endeavors.

He concluded by underscoring the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with NYCN to harness these potentials for the benefit of Lagos State youths.
