The Nigerian envoy to Spain, Ademola Seriki has died at the age of 63, Theliberationnews reports.

He died ‘peacefully’ in the early hours of Thursday in Madrid, Spain, a statement by his family confirmed.

The statement signed by his children read, “Innā lillāhi-wa-innā-ilayhi-rājiun. It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that we announce the loss of our much loved and admired patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, His Excellency, Ambassador Ademola Rasaq Atanda Seriki (CON) on December 15th, 2022.

“He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Madrid, Spain.”

Prior to his appointment as the country’s diplomat to Spain, Seriki was the former Minister of State for Defence and Chairman of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
