Hon. Francis Olagoke Oguntulu, the slain Deputy Chief of staff to Oshodi-Isolo LGA Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof has been laid to rest.
Oguntulu was buried on Thursday at Atan Cemetery, Yaba to round off the burial procession which commenced on Wednesday with a service-of-songs at the Late Abibat Ashabi Mogaji Legislative Building on the premises of Oshodi-Isolo LGA Secretariat.
The service-of-songs was followed by a lying-in-state ceremony officiated by the Oshodi-Isolo Christian Fellowship led by Pastor Avonse Olabode who brought the impactful life led by the departed Oguntulu to the fore. Pastor Olabode charged his audience to always strive to have good remarks made about them in death as was in the case of Olagoke. A brief profile of the deceased was taken on the floor of the service by a sibling, Mr. Tosin Oguntulu as the audience was requested to pray for peace to reign in the nation.
Conducting the dust-to-dust rites, Pastor Olabode prayed to God to grant late Olagoke eternal rest as the white casket bearing his remains was lowered into the grave at about 10:45 am.
In his tribute, the chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo who , alongside the vice chairman of Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Hon. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe, led friends, family, business and political associates of the deceased to the venues of the funeral processions described the deceased as a man after his heart whose death was not only a personal loss but an irreparable one.
He reflected on the life and times of Oguntulu which he described as fulfilling and worthy of emulation. Olasoju prayed for the repose of his soul.
Oguntulu died on Sunday, August 21 following injuries he sustained from attack by yet-to-be-identified assailants at a party on Adeyemi Street, Oshodi.
He was born on 13th September 1975 and had both his elementary and secondary school education in Lagos before proceeding to the Lagos State Polytechnic where he had his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Administration. GOK, as he was later to be known, ventured into fabrics business and later heed his political calling.
He is survived by aged parents, Wife, siblings and children.
