The leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Isolo Local Branch has joined other Nigerians to advocate for constructive dialogue over protest or any kind in respect to the economic hardship in the country.

In a press statement made available to Theliberationnews by the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Mustopha Najmudeen (S-one), the Coordinator of the youth body, Comrade Sikiru Akibu, urged all youths to opt for dialogue with the government and other stakeholders, an approach he described as most effective to demand more from government in order to proffer lasting solution to the lingering economic hardship.

Akibu recalled that the loss of lives and wanton destruction of properties recorded during the last nationwide civil unrest often referred to as EndSARS protest has named any demonstration undesirable hence the need to seek audience with government to press home our demands.

He added that the body is in close communication with the state structure to put forward the yearnings of youths within Isolo LCDA before the state government while also appealing to the local authority to give the youths a better sense of belonging in its administration.

“The barbaric killings and destruction of properties during the ENDSARS protest which is still fresh in our mind is enough to serve as a deterrent of any protest that could metamorphose into chaos causing damage we won’t be able to recover from. We stand in solidarity with other youths and Nigerians to ensure our quest for better livelihood but that can be achieve by leveraging diplomatic means. Let’s shelve the idea of protest,” the youth leader pleaded.
