When the heat of the 2020 pandemic began brewing with everyone scrambling for their daily bread, one man prominently stood out. Standing firmly by the government’s instruction and advisory during the Covid-19 era, and God-given instructions for his congregation, Prophet Godwin Ikuru of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry told his members to remain at home and stick to the “new normal” online service model.
Meanwhile, many had turned the crisis into an opportunity to witch-hunt Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Tinubu suddenly became the man to be blamed for all their woes including those he had no power or will to do. He became their enemy. Everybody needed to blame someone for the crisis that occurred after the endsars, for the somersaulting federal government policies that didn’t make everyday life easy for the common man. Asiwaju became a prey, his identity and name were seen as an easy target, and bloggers jumped on the trend and heaped more blame on Asiwaju.
But still, one man stood out. He stood differently. Not as an onlooker but as a prophetic force that understands the times and seasons. He told everyone who cared or didn’t care to listen that, the Jagaban of Borgu, the Asiwaju of Yoruba land, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu will become the next president of Nigeria.
Little wonder, a renowned media organization from North Central Nigeria came to Lagos to give him an award as the Prophetic hero of our time. Two years after the prophecy of Prophet Godwin Ikuru, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was named President-elect of Nigeria.
A big congratulations to Prophet Godwin Ikuru on this honour. You deserve it and more.
