UNBELIEVABLE: Bandits Kill Gen. Rabe In Captivity As Nigerians Await What Happens Next

The Katsina State Government has confirmed the passing of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who died while in the custody of bandits following his abduction.

The state government described the incident as a tragic loss to Katsina State and the entire nation, mourning the passing of the former senior military officer.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasiru Mu’azu, the government said the retired general died from complications linked to diabetes and hypertension while efforts were ongoing to secure his release.

“The deceased retired general died a natural death from complications of diabetes and hypertension,” the statement read.

The government said the prolonged captivity of the retired officer and his eventual death represented a devastating blow to his family, the state, and the country, despite continued interventions by security agencies and relevant authorities.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed deep sorrow over the development, describing it as a dark moment for Katsina State and a painful reminder of the urgent need to intensify the fight against banditry and other criminal activities.

The governor extended his condolences to the family of the late Major General, while assuring residents that the state government would continue to collaborate with the Federal Government and security agencies to bring those responsible for the abduction to justice.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace, protecting lives and property, and eliminating criminal networks threatening the security of the state.

The Katsina State Government prayed for the peaceful repose of the retired general’s soul and urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies in the ongoing battle against insecurity
