Mushin Deserves A Strong Voice At The N’Assembly, Says Ex-Lagos APC Spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, Declares For HoR Seat

Before a sea of supporters that cut across various social statuses in Mushin Constituency II on Saturday, the former spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Lagos State Chapter, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, has declared his intention to contest for the Constituency’s seat in the House of Representatives in the coming general elections.

Oladejo while addressing the mammoth crowd explained that his aspiration is hinged on service, visibility and measurable impact.

Recalling how he has justified the confidence reposed in his capacity in the past, Oladejo described himself as one of the best Mushin has produced as he beseeched the constituents for support to represent and protect their interest in the 11th National Assembly.

“I am the same man you made your secretary and later chairman of Mushin Local Government. I later became Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry to the Governor and Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations.

“I am here to canvass for your support and seek your understanding to back me up at the House of Representatives for Mushin Constituency II. I am one of the best Mushin has produced,” Oladejo declared.

He noted that leadership must be appraised by the yardstick of performance, accessibility and commitment to the wellbeing of the people.

“Leadership is not about noise or titles; it is about visible service, responsibility and results that touch lives. Mushin deserves a strong voice at the National Assembly.

Oladejo said the conviction reposed in him by party members and residents would continue to inspire his commitment to transparent, inclusive and development-driven representation.

Taking the veil off his “The Pact,” mantra which he described as a social contract between himself and the people of Mushin Constituency II, Oladejo said impactful legislation was the top priority of his agenda.

He pledged to champion laws aimed at improving welfare and economic opportunities, including the Lagos Special Status and Infrastructure Support Bill, Local Government Autonomy and Recognition Bill, and National Youth Skills and Employment Development Bill.

“I see today as a day to sign a social contract between myself and the people of Mushin Constituency II.

“It is a commitment to impactful leadership and delivering results through legislation.

“Lagos State should be accorded a special status as Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, and our 37 LCDAs should be officially recognised,” he added.

According to him, the proposed youth development bill will empower artisans and young people through vocational, technical and digital skills acquisition programmes.

Oladejo also pledged bills on public education support, mental healthcare, MSME development, sports and creative industry growth, social welfare and accessible healthcare.

On education, he promised free JAMB and GCE forms for indigent students alongside scholarships for outstanding students in public tertiary institutions.

He also pledged collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund to support re-skilling programmes and equipment for artisans.

Oladejo further promised free medical outreach programmes, mental health advocacy and the establishment of a Senior Citizens Wellness Centre within the constituency.

He also pledged regular sporting competitions, talent discovery initiatives and mentorship programmes for youths in sports, music, acting and entertainment.

Earlier, Director-General of the Hon. Seye Oladejo Campaign Organisation, Kayode Sobande, called on residents to support the aspirant.

“When he gets to the House of Representatives, he will do a lot for the people of Mushin Federal Constituency. Let us support and vote for him,” Sobande said.

Also speaking, Mushin Local Government Chairman, Olatubosun Aruwe, declared support for Oladejo’s ambition ahead of the APC primary election.

“On Friday, May 15, the candidate of the people for Mushin Constituency II is Hon. Seye Oladejo. We will support and vote for him during the primary election,” Aruwe said.

Chairman of the APC Mandate Group in Mushin Local Government, Abdulfatai Idowu, also appealed to party members to support Oladejo and other APC candidates.

Notable among others in attendance at the event includes revered member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, Sen. Ganiyu Solomon, among others.
