The President of the Lagos State Public Service Club, Comrade Olukayode Odunuga, has extended his warmest felicitations to the entire workforce across Lagos State and beyond on the auspicious occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day, a globally revered commemoration dedicated to honouring the dignity, resilience and invaluable contributions of workers to societal advancement.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the celebration, Comrade Odunuga lauded the unwavering commitment, industrious spirit and exceptional fortitude consistently demonstrated by public servants and workers across all strata of the economy. He noted that the progress and sustained developmental trajectory of Lagos State remain inextricably linked to the diligence, professionalism and sense of duty exhibited by its workforce.
Describing workers as the “indispensable engine room of governance and socio-economic transformation,” the Club President underscored the critical role they play in driving institutional efficiency, policy implementation and service delivery within the public sector.
He further acknowledged the sacrifices made by workers, often under challenging circumstances, to ensure that the machinery of government operates seamlessly.
Comrade Odunuga particularly commended the resilience of workers in navigating the evolving dynamics of the modern workplace, including economic fluctuations, technological disruptions and the increasing demand for excellence in public service delivery. He emphasized that such adaptability and dedication are not only commendable but also essential in sustaining Lagos State’s reputation as a leading centre of innovation and governance in Nigeria.
While celebrating the workforce, he also reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Public Service Club to promoting the welfare, unity and professional development of its members.
