Children’s Day: NYCN Isolo Calls For Implementation Of Policies To Promote Children’s Inclusion, Devt

The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Isolo Local Branch, Lagos, has commemorated this year’s International Children’s Day celebration, calling for the implementation of policies that will further promote an enabling environment for unhindered growth, development and inclusivity for every child.

In a message released by the Coordinator of the youth umbrella body, Damilola Kushimo, he described children as one of God’s most precious gifts and the future of every society, stressing that the wellbeing, education and protection of children must remain a top priority for governments, institutions and individuals alike.

He noted that this year’s celebration serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to nurture children in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where their talents, dreams and aspirations can thrive without limitations.

Kushimo further urged relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts towards the implementation of child-friendly policies, improved access to quality education, healthcare and social support systems that will empower children to become responsible and productive members of society.

The youth leader also encouraged parents and guardians to continue to instill moral values, discipline and compassion in children as instructed in Proverbs 22 verse 2 while also providing them with the necessary guidance and encouragement needed to excel in life.

While celebrating children across Isolo LCDA and beyond, the council reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for programmes and initiatives that will continue to promote youth and child development, inclusion and equal opportunities for all.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to dream, grow and succeed regardless of background or circumstance. Together, we must continue to build a society where every child feels valued, protected and empowered,” the statement added.
