2027: Lagos Youths Declare Support For Tinubu, Hamzat

Youth in Lagos State have come together to declare their outright support for the gubernatorial ambition of the deputy governor of the state, Dr. Kadri Hamzat and the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made on Saturday at the launch of Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Youth Ambassadors (KOHYA) at the vast hall of Sam Shonibare Youth Centre, Surulere, Lagos.

“The KOH Youth Ambassadors is a structured, grassroots civic and political advocacy movement, founded by young people of Lagos State who believe that good governance is not an accident, it is a product of deliberate choices, sustained pressure from informed citizens, and the willingness of a generation to hold power accountable while simultaneously endorsing the leadership most worthy of public trust,” one of the conveners of the group, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim declared.

Speaking on the rationale behind the movement, Adigun said, “We are not a political party. We are not a faction. We are not a temporary coalition assembled for opportunistic purposes. We are a movement, one built on documented evidence, civic principle, and a studied conviction that Lagos State in 2027 requires a specific quality of leadership that is rare, tested, and already visible in the public record.”

Adigun announced that the movement has structure across the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs in the state ready to work on the victory of Hamzat and President Bola Tinubu in the elections.

Dwelling more on the strength of the group, Adigun who doubles as the Lagos State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, emphasized that: “We have 377 Ward Coordinators already deployed across every ward. We have 57 Local Government Coordinators, a 57-member professional Media Team, 6 Senatorial District Representatives, 3 operational Marshals, and 11 campus coordinators and a 2-person General Leadership and Secretariat at our apex. This is not improvised. This is architecture. And today, you are witnessing its formal commissioning.”

Corroborating Adigun’s remarks, the Co-convener, Dr. Jamiu Ademosu added that Hamzat’s impressive records in public service and his enviable experience at the executive level have made his worthy of the endorsement.

“After rigorous study of the record of public service, governance performance, technical competence, institutional loyalty, and personal character of all individuals credibly associated with the 2027 Lagos State governorship conversation, the KOH Youth Ambassadors have arrived at a position that is unanimous, deliberate, and founded entirely on verifiable evidence.

“We declare our full, unqualified, and enthusiastic endorsement of Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat FNSE, Ph.D.; as our preferred and supported candidate for the Office of Governor of Lagos State in the 2027 general elections.”

The Speaker of Lagos State Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Itunu Shoniregun and the Lagos State Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, who are part of the marshals of KOH YA declared the alignment of their respective structures and commitment to seeing to the success of Hamzat and Tinubu at the polls.

Representing the deputy governor, Hon. Femi Otunla, commended the support group for galvanizing youths in Lagos to key into the modest aspiration of Dr. Hamzat. He emphasized that as a youth advocate, Hamzat, will keep up with his open-door policy and spare no action on youth development.

The event also featured the launching of the group’s official website, https://kohyouth.org/register-volunteer to capture more youths just as Adigun added the group has intensified efforts to ensure that more youth gets their Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC, in order to drive home resounding victory for Hamzat and Tinubu.
