Nigeria Afrobeats Singer, Tiwatope Savage better known as Tiwa Savage will share the stage with other top entertainers across the globe at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.

The event scheduled for May 7
is in honour of Charles who ascended the throne after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last year.

According to BBC Tiwa Savage is among an array of international musicians to perform at King Charles’s coronation concert.

The concert, produced by BBC Studios, will hold on the grounds of Windsor Castle as part of a three-day festivity.

Tiwa Savage, often referred to as the Queen of Afrobeats, has established herself as one of the distinguished faces in the Nigerian music landscape.

She is the first woman to win an MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act.

Reacting to her selection, the ‘Someboy’s son’ crooner could not contain her excitement as she described it as an honour to represent Africa and commonwealth at such a historic event.

“It’s truly an honour to be representing Africa and the Commonwealth at such a historic event,” she told BBC.

“I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!”

King Charles III’s coronation concert will feature other artistes including Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Take That, Paloma Faith, Steve Winwood, Lang Lang, and Nicole Scherzinger.

Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins, and Sir Tom Jones will appear via video message.

Sonam Kapoor, the Indian actress, will deliver a spoken word performance.

The festivity will include a series of street parties throughout the UK and a volunteering campaign
