It is no longer news that the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa’s father, Pa Suleimon Atanda Obasa, aged 83, died in the early hours of Tuesday at his residence.

However, not many people heard so much about him outside his immediate community while alive because he was a silent achiever. He was not wont to throwing his weight around despite being the father of the longest-serving speaker in the political history of Lagos state.

Pa Obasa was a distinguished businessman and a beloved community leader. Papa made a success of his ventures in the oil and gas industry including being a formidable actor in the transportation sector.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker’s late father, in his lifetime, owned several filling stations. His footprint was also noticeable in the agricultural sector where he became a successful farmer.

Papa’s love for humanity was shown through his empowering of many citizens especially with his agricultural enterprise harvest that he freely shared amongst his people.

During his lifetime, his name was synonymous with selflessnes and philanthropy due to his consistent fondness of taking care of the needy and less privileged in his community.

Pa Obasa was a devoted Muslim during his lifetime. Throughout his entire sojourn on earth, he maintained an admirably unwavering commitment to the service of Allah and humanity.

May almighty Allah grant him aljannah firdaus.
