Mrs. Abimbola Odunmbaku, the wife of the executive chairman of Ojodu LCDA has flagged off digital skills training for pupils of primary school across the council area.

The event held on Friday was in furtherance of the council’s bid to equip the future leaders with necessary 21st-century skills and put them in vantage positions for future opportunities, especially in the highly competitive labour market.

The event underscored the premium the council places on providing quality education and digital training for students of the council areas.

In her remarks, the council’s first lady emphasized the importance of digital skills in today’s labour market reassuring the administration’s commitment to ensuring that students are adequately prepared for future careers that demand proficiency in technology and digital tools.

Mrs Odunmbaku recalled that under her husband’s visionary leadership, the council has prioritized education and youth development. Mrs. Odunmbaku as she listed several educational initiatives undertaken by the administration, including the distribution of free JAMB and GCE forms, empowerment of teachers, and upgrading of ICT centers to foster manpower development in relevant courses.

The council is partnering with The Creative Kids Zone (TCK) to facilitate the training for the students. Through collaboration with organizations like TCK, the LCDA aims to expand opportunities for its youth and bridge the digital divide at the grassroots level.

The chairperson urged beneficiaries to seize the opportunity presented by the training program and emphasized the importance of dedication and diligence in maximizing its benefits. She encouraged participants to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in their communities through the acquisition and application of digital skills.
