In continuation of their strategic engagement towards galvanizing support as the nation heads into the 2023 general elections, the foremost presidential candidate in the country and revered national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima on Monday arrived in Minna, Niger State for a planned town hall meeting with agro-allied and commodity groups.

As seen in a video uploaded on Twitter by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State, Jubril Gawat, Tinubu and Shettima were conspicuously seen engaging in pleasantries with supporters who had thronged the airport in Niger to give them a rousing welcome.

Theliberatiobnews reported that the duo ignored the Arise TV town hall meeting that was held in Abuja on Sunday.

A decision was later defended by the party’s campaign council on Sunday noting that Tinubu’s absence was due to the planned program in Minna.

The Director of Media and Communications, Bayo Onanuga, had said, “We are in Minna now for engagement with farmers and agro-commodities groups ahead of tomorrow. The media cannot suddenly come up with a debate and wants us to drop everything we are doing to attend it. It is wrong. We also have our campaign schedule to attend to.”
