The Lagos State House of Assembly has described the death of Hon. Abdul-Sobur Olayiwola Olawale alias Omititi as shocking and a big blow to the state legislative arm.
As reported by Theliberationnews, Olawale, a lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency 2 at the state House of Assembly who doubled as the chairman House Committee on Local Government and Community Relations died yesterday, after the presidential campaign flag-off ceremony of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jos, Plateau state capital.

Chairman, Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Hon. Setonji David which was made available to Theliberationnews, the assembly noted that Olawale would be sorely missed as his death has thrown the state assembly into mourning.
“It is with deep sadness, sense of loss and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Hon. Abdulsobur Olayiwola Olawale (alias OMITITI) representing Mushin Constituency 02 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, who passed on today.
“Hon. Olawale was until his untimely demise the Chairman House Committee on Local Government and Community Relations, a second-term lawmaker left us unexpectedly and threw the who House into mourning.
“This death really hit us below the belt. We will all miss him more than words can express. We urge you to join us in our prayers for his family at this time. Thank you,” the statement read.
As gathered by Theliberationnews Olawale’s death occurred barely 18 days before the wedding of his daughter whose marriage ceremony was scheduled to hold on December 3.
Until his death, he was the Seriki Bobagunwa of Egbaland and National president, NUDGOSA (his old student association).
He was the goalkeeper at a novelty football match held last week to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
The 58-year-old is survived by a wife and three children.
He has been buried today at Ikoyi Cemetery according to Islamic rite.
