Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has finally commented on the ongoing public feud between her colleagues Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.
Addressing the issue in an Instagram post, Iyabo Ojo explained that while she has long been friends with Funke Akindele, they have had disagreements in the past. She admitted that she once publicly criticized Funke online over Toyin Abraham’s movie, a move she now admits to be wrong.
She emphasized that they later reconciled and had promised to handle any future issues privately.
“I tried my very best to settle both of them, cried, knelt down, begged both parties to embrace peace which they both later did,” Iyabo wrote.
“You saw them a few months ago interacting with one another, but there was a condition: no one was to shade online if any issue arose, and they both promised to address it off camera.”
According to Iyabo Ojo, a fresh disagreement sprang up in December when Toyin Abraham made complaints about her movie in cinemas, leading some fans to wrongly blame Funke Akindele. She clarified that Toyin was originally supposed to appear in her movie The Return of Arinzo but pulled out last minute due to exhaustion and travel commitments. While this caused extra work to rewrite the story, Iyabo Ojo said the two reconciled and moved forward.
The actress stressed that she can no longer mediate between the two parties and urged the public to respect their privacy. “Honestly, all this saddened me because the sky is big enough for all. I have tried my best, but at this point, I can’t beg anyone anymore. I honestly don’t want to get involved anymore. Please, you all should respect that. When both parties are ready, they will make peace. I love them both regardless.”
Iyabo Ojo also reminded fans that The Return of Arinzo will premiere in cinemas nationwide from April 3, 2026, despite the controversies surrounding its production.
