So, Wike triumphs again.
Before the local government polls in the Federal Capital Territory, Atiku Abubakar had swallowed his eggs before they were laid. He became a prophet and said the LG polls would betoken 2027, and it would be the first step of his new peripatetic contrivance ADC’s march to the powerhouse of Nigeria. He was basking in his vanquisher’s prophecy, it seems. The joke was on him.
Well, he met his kryptonite again named Nyesom Wike. It seems everywhere Atiku turns, he meets the former Rivers State Governor like an avenging angel. And then he sneezes and falls. His party, as the results poured in over the weekend, had nothing but failure as their report card. His party mate Peter Obi also tried to justify why he should be trusted to hoist ADC’s presidential flag. He campaigned furiously. He too had a puff of dust as result.
Wike broke the jinx that the power in Aso Rock could never win Abuja. We cannot forget that some deviants wanted to make the presidential result of FCT the only result in 36 states. What a story now with their nemesis. When Wike was made FCT minister, I was the first to write that he is the first person to have third term as governor since FCT is treated like a state. He has made history by chaperoning the state into the president’s arm. It is also time for his traducers within the power vortex of the APC to bow and appreciate his value to their boss.
Again, Wike won two states in one sweep, with Rivers State clasped by the APC. Indeed, he won in the north and south. Whatever will happen to the ADC, a party without a manifesto but has a man and chieftain who disrupts an airport and faces the courts for saying the abominable?
