The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, on Monday, formally presented the Year 2026 Appropriation Bill to the council’s lawmakers.

The proposed ₦9.9 billion budget, christened “Sustainable Growth For All,” according to Odunmbaku is designed to consolidate ongoing development initiatives while deepening inclusive governance and efficient service delivery across the LCDA.

The council boss expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Legislative Arm for its unwavering support and cooperation, describing the cordial executive–legislative relationship as fundamental to democratic stability and accountability.

He emphasized that the appropriation bill represents a social contract with residents, prioritising healthcare delivery, community safety, youth empowerment and long-term economic sustainability through resilient community development.

The Chairman outlined key focus areas of the 2026 fiscal plan to include road construction and rehabilitation, drainage projects, staff welfare, social support for the elderly, widows and vulnerable groups, economic engagement of artisans, youths and market women and the provision of essential social services and infrastructure.

He disclosed that the total proposed budget stands at ₦9,901,183,493.72, comprising ₦5.18 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦3.10 billion for capital projects, assuring strict implementation upon approval.

In his response, the Leguslative leader, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, commended the chairman’s vision and commitment to good governance, pledging that the legislative arm would give the bill prompt and diligent consideration in the best interest of Ojodu LCDA residents.

The well-attended session brought together the Vice Chairman, councillors, council management, traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, youth representatives, invited guests and members of the media, underscoring a shared resolve to advance the inclusive growth and prosperity of Ojodu LCDA.
