His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, the Aláàfin of Oyo, has conferred top Yorùbá chieftaincy titles on prominent national figures in a colourful and historic ceremony.
Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator, Abdulaziz Yari, was installed as the Obalóyin of Yorubaland, while Seyi Tinunu; son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, received the revered title of Ọkanlọmọ of Yoruba land.
The high-profile event drew a powerful lineup of Nigeria’s political elite, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, Senate Majority Leader Senator Michael Bamidele, other lawmakers, and notable dignitaries from across the country underscoring the national significance of the ceremony.
