The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. David Odunmbaku, on Tuesday, commemorated his second term 100 days in office with mega empowerment for residents as he reeled his an administration’s remarkable strides across all sectors.
The event brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, youth groups, civil society organizations, and residents who gathered to acknowledge Odunmbaku’s transformative strides within the first 100 days of his renewed mandate.
In his address, Odunmbaku expressed gratitude to the people of Ojodu for their continuous support, reaffirming that this second term mantra; HEYS RELOADED will bring about more transformative development across all sectors of governance.
His words: “Our first term birthed the HEYS Agenda; Health, Education, Youth & Women Development, and Social Infrastructure, our framework for holistic development. This second term ushers in HEYS RELOADED: a bolder, more ambitious, more transformative agenda. Whatever successes we recorded in the past will be modest compared to what we are unfolding now. The renewed mandate you have given us is a reminder that leadership succeeds only when it is anchored on the people. In Ojodu LCDA, we do not govern for the people, we govern with the people.”
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of empowerment items which includes laptops, printer, desktop monitor and CPU, sewing machine, embroidery machine, makeup box, inverter and solar panels, prescriptions eye glasses, clutches, oven, vulcanizing machine, cobbling tools, multipurpose grinding machine, electrical toolbox, industrial gas cooker and cylinder, hair dryer, poultry feeds, plumbing toolbox, welding machine, electrical drill, clutch motor, fish feed, heat press machine, standing hair dryer, chest freezer, crushes wheelchairs, popcorn seeds, welding machine, shoe mould, industrial weaving machine, stoning machine and chairs and table covers, one hundred cash gift for 20 market women and fifty thousand cash gift to 50 people living with disabilities, fuel vouchers for Keke, Korope and Bus operators to residents.
While congratulating the beneficiaries, Odunmbaku impressed on the audience that the empowerment was yet another testament to his administration’s commitment to complementing the gains of his first tenure as he pledged to foster developmental efforts, deepen community engagement, and uphold accountability as the administration advances through its second term.
