The Lagos State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and chairman Forum of State Chairmen, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE, led the forum on a strategic engagement for potential collaboration with the Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo.

In a breakfast session held on Sunday, the CofC mobilize other state chairmen across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for a robust interface with the council boss.

As gathered, the engagement formed part of activities lined up for the forum’s strategic retreat taking place in Onigbongbo, Lagos.

Addressing the youth leaders, Adebanjo commended their efforts in rallying young Nigerians around meaningful national causes aimed at driving development. He further acknowledged the pivotal role NYCN, with its various structures, plays in shaping conversations around youth empowerment, civic participation, and leadership.

In recognition of his commitment to youth-friendly governance and continued support for NYCN programmes, the forum, led by Engr. Adigun, presented Hon. Adebanjo with a Distinction Award in appreciation for his open-door leadership style and his track record of investing in initiatives that create opportunities for young people.

Responding, Adigun affirmed the forum’s readiness to deepen partnerships with local councils across the country to scale up youth development interventions. He noted that the Lagos retreat is designed to strengthen coordination among state chairmen and reposition the council for greater national impact.

He appreciated the Onigbongbo council chairman for hosting the delegation and for his unwavering belief in the potential of Nigerian youths.
