The Ìsàlè Èkó Descendants’ Union (IDU), has reeled out programmes to celebrate this year’s edition of their annual Ìsàlè Èkó Day celebration.
The union; an apolitical, socio-cultural organisation has been at the vanguard of promoting education,
heritage and oneness of the people of Ìsàlè Èkó via programs like the annual socio-cultural celebration.
As contained in a press statement signed by its chairman, Adeniji Kazeem SAN, FCArb, Mr. Lawon Adams of Loving Lagos Limited will steer the planning committee of the event which is expected to commence on Sunday, November 30, 2025 with a series of Community Wellness Outreaches which include Free health screening, water relief, among other humanitarian programs.
The celebration will also feature a historic Walkabout tour of the heritage sites of the ancient Lagos Island community on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
“Since 2018, each Ìsàlè Èkó Day Planning Committee has put on display the best of Ìsàlè
Èkó; its history, rich culture, food, tradition and stimulating dialogue at its symposiums as a means to facilitate cultural immersion and awareness, as well as to foster unity among Ìsàlè Èkó indigenes, friends and the general public,” the statement read in part.
The union called on indigenes of the community at home and abroad to come together to make the celebration a success adding that generous donations are welcome from well-meaning individuals.
“We encourage proud indigenes of Ìsàlè Èkó of all age groups who are passionate about their hometown to join and/or partner with us as we host Isale Eko Day 2025. Donations are welcome into: Isale Eko Day Account – Sterling Bank, 0070142599,” the statement read.
