The National Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has made it known that he spent a whopping ₦756 million to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign.

In a video that is making the rounds on social media, Akinsanya said he received no financial assistance from Abuja during the campaign.

According to him, the funds were used to pay for hotel accommodations, logistics, and daily allowances for campaign staff.

Giving a breakdown, he explained that close to 140 hotel rooms were booked at ₦45,000 per night for a period of four months, in addition to other expenses.

“I spent ₦756 million of my own money during the campaign. Nobody from Abuja gave me anything.

“I paid for hotels and took care of everyone who worked tirelessly for Asiwaju’s victory,” Akinsanya stated.

A close ally of President Tinubu, MC Oluomo reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the president, saying preparations for the 2027 elections are already underway.

“We’re not resting. 2027 is around the corner, and we’re already working to ensure Asiwaju wins again,” he added.

MC Oluomo played a major role in mobilising grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos and other parts of the country during the 2023 general elections and remains an influential figure in the president’s political network.
