Veteran Fuji Musician, Adewale Ayuba has shed more light into what informed his decision to convert from Islam to Christianity explaining that one of his reasons was realizing that Christ is the only Saviour.

In an interview with The Punch, Ayuba clarified that his decision to convert was based on personal conviction more because he does not understand Arabic and did not feel comfortable with people praying to God on his behalf.

Sharing the circumstances behind his conversion, the Bonsue Fuji pioneer said, “It was a personal decision. When I was a Muslim, I didn’t date around; I stayed with my wife. Some people say Muslims must marry many wives, but I never saw that in the Quran. My issue was that I didn’t understand Arabic, and I got tired of people always praying to God on my behalf. But with the Bible, I can speak to God directly. And when I read that Jesus died for me, that was enough. Nobody dies for another person easily. He did, and He’s a winner. That’s why I chose Christ. But I don’t like to talk too much about religion; it’s personal. I don’t want my words twisted.”

Addressing rumors about his alleged separation from his wife and the doubt on the paternity of his six children, the ‘Ijo Fuji’ crooner said, “That’s fake. It’s not from PUNCH, Channels TV, or any credible source. It’s just people trying to make money. However, my lawyers and I have agreed that we will no longer discuss it. I don’t even want to go into that area.”

Speaking about his his family reacted to the rumors, he said: “We all laughed. I have six children. Everybody knows Ayuba. We all know where this came from; it’s a lie. We’re only exposing it. Like I said, let’s not talk about it. If what they claimed actually happened, I wouldn’t even respond. But please, let sleeping dogs lie.”

Ayuba ascribed the growth of his marriage to God’s faithfulness noting that it’s one of the reasons is he is excelling.

“It’s simple; follow God’s design. I believe there’s a door of blessing in heaven that opens to any man who has a wife. Without a wife, that door won’t open. My marriage is one of the main reasons I’m doing well. That’s why I cherish it. To me, it’s a taboo for a man not to have a woman in his home. Blessings come through family, including your wife and children. When my children ask for something and I can’t provide it immediately, I pray, and God provides. That’s how it works. Even most billionaires are married men because responsibility brings blessings,” he said.

Talking about how he balance his music with family life, the ‘Koloba Koloba’ crooner said, “Music is a performance; a character I play. When I’m booked for a show, I go, perform, and come back home to my normal self. My house is separate from my entertainment life. No fans come to my home. On stage, I might wear flashy clothes and bring energy, but once I’m home, I’m just Ayuba, the husband and father. Music doesn’t interfere with my family. It’s just my work.
