The Forum of State Chairmen of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Wisdom Emmanuel Olawande, for his remarkable strides since him assumed office a year ago.
In a statement signed by the forum’s chairman, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE, the group described Olawande as a “super-performing minister” whose policies and initiatives have repositioned the ministry and advanced youth development across the country.
According to Adigun, the minister has performed quite well by implementing programs that empower young Nigerians in entrepreneurship, security, health, and civic engagement thereby driving the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the young population.
He noted that within just one year, Olawande’s leadership has produced tangible outcomes in youth empowerment, protection, and participation in national development.
Adigun pointed that with the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA), the “One Youth, Two Skills” program, the Corpreneur Support Scheme, Grassroots Youth Entrepreneurship Support, Youth Cred Scheme, and the Circular Economy Youth Empowerment Initiative (CEYEI), Young and Secure Initiative and the Nigerian Youth Helpdesk (911), the Yo! Health Initiative, the “One Youth, One Ward,” the Youth Community Intervention on Drug Abuse (YOCIDA), the Youth Health and Wellness Program and the Youth4Youth Agenda among others the minister has exceeded expectations of stakeholders in the youth constituency and the entire Nigerian youths.
“Hon Olawande has demonstrated that youth development is not just a slogan but a strategic driver of national progress,” he said.
“We commend his vision and urge continued support for his mission to empower young Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
