To further drive human-capital development among youth individuals, the Lagos and Ogun State chapters of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have joined forces to strengthen youth capacity and leadership across both states.

This was announced by Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE, the chairman NYCN Lagos State Chapter alongside his Ogun State counterpart, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi who also serves as the Chairman of the Forum of NYCN Chairmen, Southwest Zone, at the opening ceremony of Lagos Local Branch Retreat held in Abeokuta; the capital city of Ogun State as he emphasized the importance of intentional leadership training, mindset reorientation, and sincerity of purpose among Nigerian youths.

Adigun who doubles as the Chairman of the Forum of State Chairmen (CofC), NYCN, further highlighted that achieving meaningful progress requires strategic collaboration among organizations, states, and zones to empower young people in Lagos, the Southwest, and across the federation.

He explained that part of the collaboration was the 3-day Lagos local chapter retreat ongoing in Abeokuta which will afford the state executives and its 57 local branch coordinators the avenue to learn about the culture and other peculiarities of the Gateway state.
