An Abuja based Federal High Court has rescheduled the planned arraignment of Managing Director and Chief Executive of MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola, and three others up until October 30.
Named with Toriola as defendants in the charge filed by Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission [FCCPC] are: MTN’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Tobechukwu Okigbo, and its General Manager of Regulatory Affairs, Ikenna Ikeme.
They were said to have allegedly breached the commission’s act by failing to produce documents and information required by the commission in compliance with a lawful summons.
Their arraignment, which was to take place yesterday, could not be held owing to the absence of Justice Hauwa Yilwa, who was reportedly engaged in another duty.
On the last adjourned date, FCCPC’s lawyer, Nsitem Chizenum, accused the defendants of evading the service of documents on them.
Chizenum claimed efforts made to effect service on the defendants failed. [The Nation]
