Revered broadcaster and host of one of Nigeria’s most popular TV shows, Morayo Afolabi-Brown is set to quit TVC Communications.

As contained in a statement released on Tuesday by its Public Relations Manager Edward Akintara, the media company confirmed that Afolabi-Brown has resigned from her dual role as Managing Director of TVC Entertainment and host of Your View explaining that her final day with the organisation will be Thursday, August 29, 2025.

“After 12 impactful years at the helm of Your View, Morayo has chosen to step down in order to fully dedicate herself to a passion project she has nurtured over the years,” the statement read.

TVC expressed gratitude for her contributions, describing her as a powerful voice who impacted the network and Nigerian media at large.

“We are saddened to see her leave, but we celebrate her outstanding contributions to the show, the network, and the countless lives she has touched across Nigeria and beyond,” the company stated.

TVC also assured viewers that Your View would continue with the same standard and relevance that made it a household name across the country.

Afolabi-Brown’s exit comes just nine months after her appointment as Managing Director of TVC Entertainment in November 2023. She had previously served as Deputy Director of Programmes while still anchoring Your View, a role she held since the show’s inception.

Her appointment was made by former TVC CEO Andrew Hanlon, who stepped down in April 2024.

Beyond her work at TVC, Afolabi-Brown’s influence in Nigerian broadcast media runs deep. A graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA, she once headed content acquisition at HiTV, where she played a key role in curating pan-African content.

She is also the brain behind The Room, a concept that earned the MultiChoice New Directions $100,000 award.

Recognised for her trailblazing efforts in media, Afolabi-Brown has been honoured with numerous local and international awards. She was listed among the Top 25 Most Influential Women in Journalism Africa (WIJA) and was celebrated as one of the Top 100 Eko Women in 2021 by the Lagos State Government.

As she bows out from TVC, many will be watching closely to see what comes next for the 45-year-old broadcaster whose voice has shaped national conversations for more than a decade.
