First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu is expected in Lagos State on Thursday in what will be her first official visit to the state.

The historical visit will be commemorated with distribution of empowerment items to 1,000 women in the state at the State House, Alausa on Saturday and inauguration of Lagos Industrial Leather Hub in Matori, Mushin.

In welcoming the First Lady, the state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged Lagosians to accord her the deserved respect and hospitality the state is synonymous with.

“I urge all Lagosians to accord Her Excellency a very warm welcome and the great hospitality for which we are famous. We are proud of her initiatives, which will surely bring
smiles to the faces of the vulnerable among us,” Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu im a press statement signed by the commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotosho.

The visit, said Mr Governor, underscores the First Lady’s “unwavering dedication to the promotion of national unity, advancement of women and children, and strengthening of social welfare initiatives-all of which align with the State Government’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development.”
