CVR: Lagos NYCN Sets Up Over 150 Registration Centres Across Lagos, Intensifies Voters Education

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, has proven yet again why it is regarded as the leading state chapter in the federation as it set up over 150 online registration centres across the state to drive the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise.

Making the announcement on Tuesday , the Council Chairman, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, MNSE, COREN, disclosed that the move is to assist prospective applicants with the onlin registrations, especially the youth, with the process and ultimately complement the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adigun made it known that the centres, established through the local branches across 57 LGAs and LCDAs in the state, will be providing hands-on assistance to prospective registrants.

His words, “It became necessary to bring the registration exercise closer to our people. Beyond advocacy, we are taking proactive steps to ensure that no willing and eligible voter is disenfranchised in Lagos State.

“The booths are equipped with internet facilities and knowledgeable volunteers who will guide applicants through the entire online registration process seamlessly.”

He further emphasized that the initiative goes beyond setting up centres, noting that the Council has also intensified voter education campaigns across all communities to sensitize residents, especially young people, on the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participating actively in the democratic process.

Adigun assured that the NYCN will sustain the momentum throughout the registration window, working hand-in-hand with INEC and other stakeholders to boost voter turnout in the 2027 general elections and beyond.
